A collection of poetry and lyrics spanning three decades of Cherry B’s performance work.
Political, societal and inclusive, this is uncompromising and passionate punk ‘n’ roll poetics firing from the belly of social conscience.
Description
“Her work is earthy, confrontational, poignant and thought provoking, and her poem about stillbirth had me in bits. She is going from strength to strength.” Attila the Stockbroker, poet, musician & activist
“A glorious romp through social and sexual politics; Cherry B had me chuckling one moment and prickling with injustice the next. I love her positive energy and shrewd observations, a wonderful read.” Carol Hodge, musical artist
“She speaks the words many women of all ages feel, covers subjects that delight us by being brought to attention even when they are uncomfortable truths. Sometimes funny, other times deeply poignant and always with a point to make!” Jennie Russell-Smith, Rebellion Festivals
Cherry B (AKA Bev Warner) was brought up in Harlow, Essex and has lived and worked across the country, forging especially strong ties to the north east. She has performed her politically charged poetry and songs to audiences the length and breadth of the UK. Her band, Cherry & Peesh, was created from a mix of the acoustic work of musician Peesh Logoz and her own provocative, political poetry.
A qualified Psychotherapist with her own private practice, she champions the use of poetry as a means of emotional expression, creating empathy and engendering universal insight to enable people to feel supported and understood.
